Description of key information
NC-4 was found to be not flammable under the EU (DSD) criteria: EU test methods A9 - A13.

A flammability determination (Batelle Institut E.V., Frankfurt) was taken from the NONS registration dossier for NC-4 (Mitsui & Co., Benelux, 1991). The flammability of NC-4 was assessed with according to EU guidelines A13, A10, A11, A12, A9 and A2.
NC-4 was not found to be Extremely Flammable (according to E test methods A9 and A2), Highly flammable (according to EC test methods A9 - A13), or Flammable (according to EC test method A9).
The overall conclusion was that NC-4 was Not Flammable.
Justification for classification or non-classification
NC-4 was showed no evidence of flammability when assessed according to EU test methods A9 - A13. On this basis it may be concluded that classification as flammable is not required. This conclusion applies to the following Physical Hazards:
Flammable solids
Pyrophoric solids
Substances and mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Note that as NC-4 is a solid under normal conditions, and will not be used as an aerosol, the following classifications do not apply:
Flammable Gases
Flammable Liquids
Flammable Aerosols
Pyrophoric Liquids
