Additional information

The supported uses for this substance ('benzene, ethylenated, by-products from') are limited to industrial closed systems and as such are not expected to lead to direct or indirect exposure to the environment. Therefore according to column 2 of REACH ANNEX IX and X, terrestrial toxicity testing for the substance is not required. However, under unlikely circumstances of accidental release (e.g., unplanned event of loss of containment), soil compartment would be the most likely receiving environmental media. Any releases that may occur are expected to be minor and must be immediately remediated. As a result, long-term exposure to soil compartment would not occur. Therefore, long-term toxicity testing on soil invertebrates and plants according to the standard information requirements of Column 2 of Annex IX, Section 9.4. is not necessary.
