Substance was dissolved/suspended in water and the pH of the solution was measured to be 2.75. pH measurement was done on a Thermalyne Cimarac1 pH meter; electrode was the combination pH electrode that came with the instrument. The instrument is calibrated daily with NIST-traceable pH 4.0, 7.0 and 10.0 buffer solutions.
