Biodegradation was assessed using a test performed with the analogous substance Pentaerythritol propoxylated (CAS# 9051-49-4). Both substances are similar as they contain the same core molecule (Pentaerythritol) and differ only in the structure of the side chain (ethoxylated vs. propxylated). Hence, biodegradation is considered to be comparable.
51% biodegradation was observed after 28 days hence Pentaerythritol, propoxylated as well as ethoxylated is considered non readily biodegradable.
