Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2021-09-07 to 2021-10-18
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method)
Version / remarks:
adopted July 27, 1995
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:

Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient - Shake Flask Method)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:

Guideline:
other: OECD guideline for the testing of chemicals: Water Solubility, Guideline No.: 105
Version / remarks:
adopted July 27, 1995
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
estimation method (solubility ratio)
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
analysis (not specified)
other: observation of undissolved particles (for octanol)
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
< -1.6
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
> 0 - < 14
Remarks on result:
other: The pH is not particularly mentioned in the study report, however it is being assumed that the study was conducted under regular pH conditions.
Details on results:
Undissolved particles were still observed in the test item / n-octanol mixture at the concentration 5.2 mg test item / 2 L n-octanol after 24 hours, thus, the solubility of the examined test item batch in n-octanol is less than 2.6 mg/L. The solubility of the same batch in water is 114.4 mg/L. Based on these results the log Pow of < -1.6 is calculated.
Conclusions:
Based on the individual solubility of test item in n-octanol and water, the log Pow is <-1.6.

Description of key information

Based on the individual solubility of test item in n-octanol and water, the Pow is <0.023 and the log Pow < -1.6.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
