Additional information

The flash point of the test substance was measured according to EU method A9 using a Sommer & Runge PMA2 automatic flash-point tester. The flash point of the test substance was determined to be 194°C at atmospheric pressure (99.5 kPa).

Approximately 70 mL of the test substance was placed in a test cup closed by a lid and heated at a specified rate, with stirring. At 1°C intervals in the temperature range close to the flash point, a small test flame was automatically introduced into the vapour space above the liquid through a temporary opening in the lid. A flash was observed when the vapour concentration above the liquid was sufficient to be ignited by the test flame. The flash was detected by a thermocouple suspended in the vapour space.
