Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One key study is presented along with a number of supporting refernces from literature data. The key study contains vapour pressure values at 20oC and 25oC, which are largely supported by the literaure values.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
12 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A recent study has been performed to current guidelines and to GLP. This study (Atwal.S, Tremain, S. 2011), used as the key study, determined the vapour pressure of 2,4-Dichlorphenol to be 8.7 Pa @20°C and 12 Pa @25°C.

In total twelve references from various sources have also been reported, although the methods and guidelines for all supporting data are not available. The reporting temperature is not standardised and therefore the values vary.

The supporting data is summarised in the table below:

Two values were reported at 20°C, 8 Pa (SIDS) and 10 Pa (SIDS).

Four values were reported at 25°C, 16 Pa (SIDS), 12 Pa (SIDS), 12 Pa (Chemosphere) and 16 Pa (EPA).

As no method of determination, purity of test substance or the guideline followed were reported for much of the above supporting data it is difficult to draw any comparison with the key study. However in loose terms, the data presented supports the key values obtained. As the quality of the data in the key study has been evaluated as Klimisch 1, then the value reported at 25°C will be taken as the critical endpoint for 2,4 -Dichlorophenol.
