Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Justifications and discussions

Category rationale:
1.REPORTING FORMAT FOR THE CATEGORY APPROACH
The Read-across rationale is included as attachment in the relevant endpoints.
2. HYPOTHESIS FOR THE CATEGORY APPROACH (ENDPOINT LEVEL)
For this endpoint, the properties investigated in studies conducted with different source substances in the perchlorate category are used to predict the properties that would be observed in the target substance.

3. CATEGORY APPROACH JUSTIFICATION (ENDPOINT LEVEL
Perchloryl fluoride (ClO3 F) is a mono-costituent inorganic substance. When dissolved in water reacts slowly with the solvent. In water the following reaction take place: CℓO3F + H2O = CℓO4- + F- + 2H+ .
Perchlorate substances (ClO4- X+) are mono-costituent inorganic substances. They will dissolve in water and completely dissociate into the perchlorate anion and the corresponding cation
The source and the target substances share structural similarities with common ionical part and the same toxicological effects for the known endpoints. This prediction is supported by toxicological data on the substances themselves.
