Any other information on results incl. tables

The melting point / range was determined using a using a melting point system (MP80, Mettler

Toledo) according DIN EN ISO 3143 (previous version: DIN 53736). Two runs were done. The

onset-temperature is 118 °C. The clear point was reached at 121 °C.

The thermic behaviour of Phytosphingosine SLC was tested with a boiling point capillary from

room temperature up to 300 °C with a heating rate of 10 °C/min.

Arising bubbles were observed above a temperature of 124°C. Starting at 155 °C, the specimen

became more and more colorized. Finally, after cooling, the content of the tube appeared colored

and brownish.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting point of Phytosphingosine SLC was determined by differential scanning calorimetry: Melting Point: 107.2 °C ± 0.6 °C (1010 hPa).
Executive summary:

The melting point of Phytosphingosine SLC determined by differential scanning calorimetry (OECD guideline 102, adopted 27th July 1995 and EU method A.1, 30 May 2008) is reported to be 107.2 °C ± 0.6 °C (1010 hPa).
