The acute effects of Reactive Blue FC15353 to aquatic organisms were tested in three 96-h studies on zebra fish (Danio rerio) at concentrations up to 500 mg/L, and one 24-h test on Daphnia magna likewise at a concentration of 500 mg/L. No adverse effects were reported in any of the studies. Growth inhibition to algae was tested using a structural analogue (read-across approach). There were no compound related adverse effects on algae since it could be demonstrated that growth inhibition was exclusively caused by light attenuation of the coloured test substance.
