Description of key information

A study was performed according to EU method A.14. The test item was not explosive under the influence of a flame. Less sensitive to shock than dinitrobenzene. Less sensitive to friction than dinitrobenzene.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

A study was performed to determine the explosive property of test substance according to EU Method A.14.

Three different tests were performed to determine explosive behavior:

Thermal Stability was determined by "Stahlhülsentest" or Koenen-Test and the test substance shows no explosion after heating.

Mechanical sensibility by tests with a drop hammer apparatus ("Fallhammerapparat") revealed no explosion at 40 J impact energy. Weight of the hammer was 10 kg and height of fall was 40 cm.

Mechanical sensibility was also tested in a friction apparatus ("Reibeapparat") which revealed no explosion at a pin pressure of 360 N.

Under the test conditions, test substance has no danger of explosion.

Justification for classification or non-classification

3 different test were performed. Under the test conditions, test substance has no danger of explosion.
