Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item was not flammable in either a flammability test for solids (failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test) or a flash point test for liquids (226 ± 2 °C at 100.3 kPa)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability (solids) was determined by measuring the burning rate of test item prepared as a pile of set dimensions. Testing was conducted using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A10 Flammability (solids) of Comission REgulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008

The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test.

Method A9 Flash Point; Closed cup equilibrium method of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008

The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 226 ± 2 °C at 100.3 kPa.

Based on chemical structure, pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water are not expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification, the substance is a non flammable solid.

Justification: The substance is a solid that failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test and has a flash point of 226°C at 100.3 kPa (> 60 °C). Based on the chemical structure pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water are not expected.
