PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
PBT assessment does not apply
Justification:

The criteria does not apply for inorganic substances.

Likely routes of exposure:

The PBT / vPvB criteria does not apply for this substance as it is inorganic. However, as this substance is an UVCB substance containing lead (Pb), the exposure assessment for man via the environment was conducted by using calculated estimates and monitoring data from the region. Lead is carcinogenic and reproduction toxic and it also has bioaccumulation potential to the environment. The other critical constituent of the substance is zinc. Based on data on bioaccumulation of zinc in animals and on biomagnification (i.e. accumulation and transfer through the food chain), secondary poisoning is not considered relevant and no further assessment for zinc emissions are required.
