Description of key information

FAT 36091/I is a yellow powder, solid at 20 °C. The melting point is found to be 225 °C and thermic decomposition starts about 260 °C. No boiling point was detected until thermic decomposition starts. The density of the test item at 20 °C is determined to be: 0.9922 g/cm³. In the particle size distribution study, L50 was found to be 4.839 µm, the L10 to be  1.167 µm and L90 is found to be 13.056 µm. The vapor pressure has been calculated to be 1.1 x 10-8 Pa at 25 °C using the Modified Watson Correlation. The partition coefficent n-octanol/water of the test item at 20 °C was determined to: Pow = 144.6, Log Pow = 2.16. The water solubility cs of the test item at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to (without correction for the purity): cs = 3.9 mg/l.

The surface tension of FAT 36091/I was determined to be 73.665 mN/m at room temperature of ca. 20 °C. The flash point study was waived in accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, the flash point study does not need to be conducted based on the physical state of the substance. According to ECHA guidance, flash point is only relevant to substances that are liquid at room temperature. Regarding the auto-ignition study, there is no auto-ignition until 550 °C for FAT 36091/I. FAT 36091/I is neither flammable and explosive.

The oxidising properties was waived in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the oxidising propoerties study does not need to be conducted as this substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of its chemical structure.
