Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Unfortunately there is no more detailed information about the measurement of the water solubility. But the data provided meet generally accepted scientific principles and were already evaluated by international experts within the OECD-HPV programme (cf OECD SIDS Dossier
Methacrylamide Mitsui Inc., Japan 2002).
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
other: no data
Specific details on test material used for the study:
WAKO Pure Chemicals Industries, Ltd. (Lot. PAL0299)
Purity: 99.3%
Key result
Water solubility:
>= 100 g/L
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
ca. 7
Details on results:
Unfortunately there is no exact measurements of the pH-value reported of this water solubility study. But in comparison the supporting study the pH-value has to be ca. 7. Besides the molecular structure of Methacrylamide does not show any dissociable groups which confirms this assumption.
Conclusions:
Methacrylamide is highly soluble in water: > 100 g/l
Executive summary:

Methacrylamide is of high solubility in water. The water solubility was tested acc. OECD 105 from METI Japan and reported to be > 100 g/l

Description of key information

The water solubility of the test item has been determined to be >= 100 g/L of solution at 25 °C. Methacrylamide is highly soluble in water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
100 g/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C
