Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to column 2 of REACH Annex IX, No. 9.2.1.4, the study on sediment simulation testing (for substances with a high potential for adsorption to the sediment) does not need to be conducted if e.g. direct and indirect exposure of sediment is unlikely.

According to Annex X 9.5.1. REACH long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed if the results of the CSA indicate the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on sediment organisms. The test substance is not supposed to be directly applied to sediment and an indirect exposure to sediment is unlikely since the substance is highly insoluble in water. For substances being considered as „highly insoluble in water“, it can be assumed that they will not enter the STP-process in concentrations which can affect STP. In both cases, a transfer to the sediment compartment is unlikely. As a consequence, no tests on sediment organisms are provided.

There is no need to further testing in accordance with Annex IX 9.2.1.4 as well as Annex X 9.5.1. REACH.
