Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

An acute fish toxicity study was conducted to determine the dose levels for an 8 week bioconcentration study. The investigation was a semi-static test
consisting of a control and a range of 5 increasing concentrations of MODA to Japanese rice fish. Mortalities were observed over a 48 hour period.
The results obtained determined the 48 hour LC50, which was found to be 73.6 mg/Litre under the test conditions.

Additional information

An acute fish toxicity study was conducted to determine the dose levels for an 8 week bioconcentration study. The acute study was conducted according to 'Acute Toxicity Studies in Fish (71, JIS K 0102-1993)' and to the principles of GLP. The investigation was a semi-static test consisting of a control and a range of 5 increasing concentrations of MODA to Japanese rice fish.

This study is equivalent to EC 440/2008 fish toxicity guidelines except from mortalities were observed over a 48 hour period instead of 96 h. However, it can be assumed that a prolonged test duration would not have a relevant influence on the test results and the range of LC50. The results obtained determined the 48 hour LC50, which was found to be 73.6 mg/Litre under the test conditions.
