Description of key information

ErC50 (72h) for freshwater algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata): 1.9 mg/L (OECD TG 201; static)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.9 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.6 mg/L

Additional information

There are two available results on toxicity to algae. Both of them were done following OECD Guideline 201. One of them (SIDS report, Japan, 1992) lead to a result of EC50=29 mg/L, based on biomass. The other available one (Aniol S, 2013) used the Water Accommodated Fraction mode of the same guideline and the results were and EC50=1.9 mg/L, based on growth rate. This value has been considered for classification purposes and risk assessment.
