Justification:

Due to the results as presented in chapter 4.1 Degradation, the substance has to be regarded as potentially very persistent (vP) in the environment.

Due to the results as presented in chapter 4.3 Bioaccumulation the substance is not bioaccumulative (not B) and not very bioaccumulative (not vB).

Due to the results of the aquatic toxicity studies (see chapter 7.1. Aquatic compartment including sediment) and the relevant mammalian toxicity studies (see chapter 5. Human Health Hazard Assessment), the substance is not toxic (not T).

The overall conclusion is that 1,4 -diethylbenzene is not assessed to be PBT and vPvB.
