Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not irritating
Remarks:
Migrated information Criteria used for interpretation of results: EU
Conclusions:
The substance resorcinol was found to be not irritating to rabbit when applied at concentration of 2.5 % W/V.
Executive summary:

In three NZW rabbits, the application of a 2.5% (w/v) solution of resorcinol into the eyes (rinsing 10 s after application) caused only mild conjunctival inflammation, disappearing within 24 h post-application. This indicates that the substance resorcinol was found to be not irritating to eye of rabbit.
