Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The lethal concentration (LC50) value of 3-diethylaminophenol in fish (Oryzias latipes) in a 48 hr study on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 34.03607mg/L. But the BCF value of 3-diethylaminophenol reported was not >= 2000 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable.

Thus considering theCLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that 3-diethyl amino phenol does not exhibits short term toxicity to fish (Oryzias latipes)

By applying weight of evidence approach to the studies summarized in the above table it can be observed that the LC50 values was found to be in range of 17.07 to 88.6 mg/l in 96, 48 and 24 hrs on the basis of mortality effect .

But the BCF value of 3-diethylaminophenol reported was not >= 2000 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable.

Thus considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that 3-diethylaminophenol does not exhibit short term toxicity to fish (Oryzias latipes,Pimephales promelas and Oncorhynchus mykiss)
