2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one
Name:
2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance fulfills the requirements for persistence (P) and toxic (T), but does not meet the requirements for bioaccumulation (B).

The biodegradability of the test substance was investigated in a study according to GLP and OECD guideline 301 B. After 28 days a biodegradation rate < 1% was measured. Therefore, the test substance isnot readily biodegradable according to OECD-criteria and regarded as persistent.

In a bioaccumulation study according to Japanese protocol procedures, individuals of Oryzias latipeswere exposed to two concentrations of the test substance for a period of 56 days. The determined BCFvalues are between 5.3 and 10.1. The results are supported by four different QSAR calculations resultingin BCF values < 120. Ths substance is therefore considered not to be bioaccumulative.

The test substance is classified with toxic for reproduction category category 2 (development)Category 3 (fertility) according to Directive 67/548/EEC and toxic for reproduction category 1B aaccording to Regulation EC No 1272/2008. Therefore, the test substance is regarded as toxic.
