Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the water solubility study (required in Section 7.7) does not need to be conducted as the substance has a hydrolytic half-life less than 12 hours at pH 4, 7 and 9.

Each chlorosilane constituent of the substance hydrolyses very rapidly in contact with water to give the corresponding silanol. The water solubility of each hydrolysis product has been calculated using a validated QSAR, although methylsilanetriol and dimethylsilanediol would soon also be formed and these substances are also highly water soluble.
