First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air if not breathing  give artificial

respiration.  If breathing is difficult give oxygen.  Obtain

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate the eyes with copious amounts of cold

water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash the skin with copious amounts of cold

water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out the mouth with cold water, provided the person is

conscious.  Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or

appropriate foam.

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus, and protective clothing

to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Exposed persons should wear an approved dust respirator,

chemical safety goggles, rubber boots and gloves.  The

spillage should be swept up and placed in a suitable

container and held for licenced waste disposal.  The area

should be ventilated and the spill site should be washed

after material pick up is complete.

Handling and storage

Handling: Exposed workers should wear: Cartridge filter dust

respirator (approved EN140-EN141-EN143, HSE approved

standard PrEN 14-3/P3), Safety goggles (CE mark approval, BS

EN 166, 167, 168) and chemical resistant gloves (approved to

PrEN 374).

Storage: Store in a dry place, below 20°C in the dark.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fiberboard drums with metal tops and bottoms.  The substance

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Dissolve or mix substance in a suitable combustible solvent.

Burn in a chemical incineration plant which has gas

absorption capabilities to remove oxides of nitrogen formed

during combustion [661].

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the test substance will not enter the public

domain.
