- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 72 °C
Additional information
Three reliable measured flash points are available for the submission substance. A measured flash point value of 72 ± 2°C at 102.06 kPa was determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 3679 Test Method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.
In other available sources which have been used to support the key study, flash point values of 76 - 77°C were determined for samples of the substance with different purities ranging from 99.1-99.7%. using a non-equilibrium closed-cup method. Also, a flash point value of 66.2°C at 1007 hPa was determined for the substance, however, full details are not available and as such the study is of a lower reliability.
Variations in the flash point values may be caused by variations in purity of the test substance and in the test method used. The key study is selected as the study most recently conducted and of the highest reliability.
A flash point of 72°C at 102.06 kPa and a measured boiling point of 203°C, indicate that the substance should not be classified for flammability according to the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
