Description of key information
In a 48-hour acute toxicity test with Daphnia magna the 48 h-EC50 value and the 48 h-LOEC value were determined to be higher than 100 mg/L, and the 48 h-NOEC was determined as 100 mg/L. The results are based on the nominal test item concentrations.

The acute toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates was assessed according to OECD guideline 202, EU method C.2 and OPPTS 850.1010. Young Daphnia magna were exposed in an immobilisation test to aqueous test media containing the test item for 48 hours at a range of concentration. Based upon the results from the preliminary experiments, nominal concentrations of 12.0, 20.4, 34.6, 58.8 and 100 mg/Lwere investigated in the main study. The test item concentrations above the LOQ (limit of quantification) remained within ± 20 % of the nominal during the test period of 48 hours; therefore all biological results are based on the nominal concentrations. There was no immobilisation in twenty daphnids exposed to each test item treated or control group. In addition to immobility, no abnormal behaviour or appearance of test animals was detected.
Accordingly, the 48-h NOEC was determined to be 100 mg/L. The 48-h EC50 and 48 h-LOEC were determined to be higher than 100 mg/L.
