Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two aquatic toxicity tests are available, with the following key results:

72-h NOErC (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, growth rate) ≥ 960 mg/L (geometric mean of measured concentrations), according to OECD guideline 201 and under GLP (Seeland-Fremer 2019)

24-h EC50 (Daphnia magna, immobilisation) ≥ 5 g/L and ≤ 10 g/L (nominal concentration), according to ÖNORM EN ISO 6314. ECOSAR predicts a 48 -h LC50 (Daphnids) of 13 g/L.

Additional information

In a study (Seeland-Fremer 2019) conducted according to the OECD guideline 201 and GLP no significant inhibition of the growth rate was observed for the freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata up to the highest concentration tested (i.e. 960 mg/L based on geometric mean of the measured substance).

72-h NOErC (P. subcapitata, growth rate) ≥ 960 mg/L

In addition, a test with Daphnia magna is available conducted according to ÖNORM EN ISO 6314 (Aschacher 2002). An EC50 could not be identified in the test as the results did not follow a dose-response. The range finder showed that no immobilisation occurred up to 5 g/L.

Therefore, it is concluded that the 24-h EC50 (D. magna, immobilisation) is above 5 g/L and below 10 g/L.
