Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Auto flammability
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- other:
- Justification for type of information:
- In addition to the data waiving statement above, the following should be considered:
- the substance does not contain flammable or reactive impurities
- in TGA tests with the substance, apart from evaporation of moisture, no relevant effects related to melting or decomposition were observed up to approx. 600°C. This also is an indication for the substance not being self-ignitable under the influenece of heat up to 400°C.
Cross-reference
- Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
- data waiving: supporting information
Reference
- Endpoint:
- melting point/freezing point
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- January 2018
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
- Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
- reference to same study
- Qualifier:
- no guideline followed
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- TGA analysis was performed on 3 samples of the substance, up to 1000°C.
- GLP compliance:
- no
- Type of method:
- other: thermogravimetric analyses
- Key result
- Decomposition:
- ambiguous
- Decomp. temp.:
- ca. 600 °C
- Remarks on result:
- not determinable
- Conclusions:
- The substance does not melt (up to 500°C).
- Executive summary:
TGA analysis was performed on 3 batches of the substance, up to 1000°C. A dynamic rate high resolution program was used to obtain the data (Hi-Res sensitivity 1.0, Ramp 50.00°C/min, resolution 4.0).
Helium gas was used to create an inert atmosphere in all analyses.
In none of the tests a melting effect was observed. From this it is concluded that the substance does not have a melting point.
TGA curves of all 3 tested batches showed weight loss up to ca. 140 -150°C, and then an effect at approximately 600°C, which was ascribed to decomposition of residual OH and CO3 groups in the structure.
No distinct melting effect was observed, thus it is concluded that the substance has no melting temperature.
