Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Abiotic Degradation - Hydrolysis Study:

A hydrolysis study was performed in year 2018 according to OECD Guideline 111 and EU Method C.7.

The degradation of Acetoacetamide was less than 10% at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 at 50°C over a period of 120 hours. Therefore, the

corresponding half-life time can be estimated to be longer than one year at 25 °C.

Inherent Biodegradability in the Zahn-Wellens-Test:

Acetoacetamide (30% solution) is inherently biodegradable under the conditions of the zahn-Wellens Test.

Bioaccumulation:

The substance does not have the potential to bioaccumulate. In a study according to OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), shake-flask Method) the octanol-water partition coefficient was determined to be logPow

-1.4 at 23°C.

Estimation of Adsorption-Coefficient on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

The log Koc values were below the lowest used reference standard (log Koc of the lowest reference standard phenol is 1.32).

Therefore, the log Koc is < 1.32.
