Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
7 June 2017 - 22 September 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The test is preferably run at 20 ±0.5°C, however the highest recorded during testing was 0.8°C. Due to technical reasons the equilibration time at 20°C was 96 hrs (not 24 hrs) as per the study plan. These deviations had no effect on study results.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The test is preferably run at 20 ±0.5°C, however the highest recorded during testing was 0.8°C. Due to technical reasons the equilibration time at 20°C was 96 hrs (not 24 hrs) as per the study plan. These deviations had no effect on study results.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Name: MDAC
- Source: Osaka Soda Co. Ltd
- Lot/batch No.of test material: 40201
- Expiration date of test material: 26 January 2019
- Description: Colourless liquid
- Purity: 99.2%

STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: Controlled room temperature, protected from light
Key result
Water solubility:
ca. 110 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Incubation duration:
ca. 1 d
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 4.54 - ca. 4.7
Details on results:
Calibration: Concentration levels: 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 μg/mL. The calibration graph was calculated by linear regression.
pH samples variation range 4.54 - 4.70.
Samples were analysed using HPLC.
Based on the measured concentrations, test mixtures were homogeneous and the whole amount of added MDAC was dissolved.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of MDAC was determined to be 110 ±2.72 μg/mL (95% confidence interval) at 20°C ±0.8°C using the shake-flask method.
