Description of key information
Physico-chemical endpoints are completed for this substance based on test data following standard guidelines, or data waivers. All data are therefore considered to be reliable and relevant for the endpoint concerned.
Appearance/Physical state/Colour
The test item is a light yellow to colourless solid at room temperature as reported in the test item section, and associated certificate of analysis, in a GLP-compliant experimental study (2018). The substance is a liquid to crystalline product, with a low melting point.
Melting point/freezing point
The melting point of the test item was determined to be 37.3 ⁰C at an atmospheric pressure of 985.0 hPa by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The study was conducted according to OECD TG 102 guideline.
Boiling point
The boiling point was determined to be 214.5°C at an atmospheric pressure of 1013.0 hPa by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) (2018). The study was conducted according to OECD TG 103 guideline.
Density
The relative density of the test item was determined to be 0.961 at 20°C (2018). The study was carried out according to OECD TG 109.
Particle size distribution
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the granulometry study does not need to be conducted as the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item at 20, 25 and 50°C was calculated to be 1.6, 3.0 and 38.5 Pa (2018). Vapour pressure was determined by the dynamic method: Vapour-Liquid Equilibrium and effusion method: Knudsen cell according to OECD TG 104.
Partition coefficient
The log Pow values based on the two peaks of the test material were determined to be 3.02 and 3.32 (2018). The partition coefficients were determined by HPLC method according to OECD TG 117.
Water solubility
The water solubility of the test item was determined to be 509 ± 5 mg/L at 20°C (2018). Water solubility was tested according to OECD TG 105.
Surface tension
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the surface tension does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted. The surface activity of the material is not a desired property therefore the study does not need to be conducted.
Flash point
The flash point of the test item was determined to be 95.5°C at an atmospheric pressure of 989.2 hPa (2018). The study follows a standard test guideline (EU method A9) and is reliable without restrictions.
Auto flammability
The auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 280°C (2018). This study follows a standard test guideline (EU method A15) and is reliable without restrictions.
Flammability
This endpoint was waived because the substance is a low melting point solid and the flammability classification can be determined based on flashpoint and boiling point. With a measured flash point > 60°C, the test item does not have to be classified as a flammable according to GHS or CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1.
Explosiveness
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the explosive properties study does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.
Oxidising properties
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the oxidising properties study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
