Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A 21-day EC50 value of 0.30 mg/L has been determined for the effects of HMDS on reproduction of Daphnia magna. A 21-day NOEC of 0.08 mg/L, equivalent to 0.085 mg/l (time-weighted mean, derived by reviewer) has been determined for the same endpoint.

Additional information

A 21-d EC50 value of 0.30 mg/l (measured, arithmetic mean) and NOEC of 0.080 mg/l (measured, arithmetic mean, equivalent to 0.085 mg/l, time-weighted mean) have been determined for the effects of hexamethyldisiloxane (CAS 107-46-0) on reproduction of Daphnia magna. In view of the exposure regime it is likely that the test organisms were exposed primarily to the parent form of the tested substance, although some losses were observed based on measured concentrations in spent media.
