Conclusion on classification

The following key information was used for the environmental classification:

Lowest acute E(L)C50 value 9.2 mg/L to Ceriodaphnia dubia (Goodrich, 1994)

Lowest chronic ErC10 value 45.2 mg/L to algae ( DR. U. NOACK-LABORATORIEN, 2015)

Not ready biodegradable in an OECD 301B test (Soeter, 2015)

Acute:

As the lowest EC50 value (to Ceriodaphnia dubia) was >1 mg/L, the substance is not classified.

Chronic:

One chronic ErC10 value is available (in algae). Therefore the chronic classification needs to be determined based on acute data and based on chronic data and the most stringent outcome should be leading:

Based on the chronic ErC10 in algae > 1 mg/L, no chronic classification is necessary.

However, based on the EC50 to Ceriodaphnia dubia which is > 1 and ≤10 mg/L and the fact that the substance is not ready biodegradable, the substance should be classified as Chronic 2, H411 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
