Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

For the determination of the melting range the main DSC test was performed in triplicate.

The melting ranges were read from the second and the third heating run of each test as extrapolated onset and extrapolated end point of the allocated melting peak.

After the test procedure the samples were re-weighed in order to check for a significant sample loss indicating interfering non melting processes.

Conclusions:
A melting ange of 74.4-85.5 °C was determined.
Executive summary:

In a study according to OECD guideline 102 the melting behaviour of the substance was determined by using the DSC method. A melting range of 74.4 -85.4 °C was determined.

Endpoint:

Remarks on result:
other: Starting from 220 °C the sample becomes brownish; at 260 °C the specimen was completely black.

In the melting point microscope the test item changes at an onset-temperature of 76 °C, at 83 °C a clear melting point was reached. Starting from 220 °C the sample becomes brownish; at 260 °C the specimen was completely black.

Conclusions:
A melting range between 76 and 83 °C was determined. At a temperature of >= 220 °C the sample becomes brownish; at 260 °C the specimen was completely black.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the substance was determined according to OECD guideline 102 by using the cappillary method. In the melting point microscope the test item changes at an onset-temperature of 76 °C, at 83 °C a clear melting point was reached. Starting from 220 °C the sample becomes brownish; at 260 °C the specimen was completely black.

Description of key information

A melting range between 74.4 and 85.4 °C was determined for the substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
74.4 °C

Additional information

The melting temperature of the test item was determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to the OECD Test Guideline 102 [adopted on 27 July 1995] as well as by the capillary method according to DIN EN ISO 3146.

DSC: Melting range: 74.4 °C – 85.4 °C (1020 hPa)

Capillary method: 76 -83 °C
