Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC):
This technique records the difference in heat flow of two crucibles, one filled with test item and the other left empty as reference, while these crucibles are subjected to a controlled temperature programme. A transition of the test item, such as melting or evaporation, is indicated by a deviation from the base line in the heat flow record. Because melting and evaporation are processes in which heat is consumed, the deviation from the base line is in the endothermic direction for these processes. The melting temperature or boiling temperature (if any) of the test item is evaluated from the DSC curve as the extrapolated onset temperature of the endothermic melting or evaporation peak.

Any other information on results incl. tables

For the calculation of the melting point the results of exp 1 and exp 2 (first run) were used.

In the preliminary test the weight of the substance decreased from 200 °C onwards (75% at 320 °C). After this test a black molten residue was found in the container

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting point of the substance is 128.8 – 133.3°C (402 – 406K)
Executive summary:

Using the DSC method the melting point of the substance was assessed in 2 experiments to be 128.8 – 133.3°C (402 – 406K).
