Results and discussion

Flash point
Key result
Remarks on result:
no flash point - measurement carried out until boiling temperature

Any other information on results incl. tables

The closed cup method according to OECD guidance It was visually observed that the dichloro trifluoro methoxy dioxolane had a boiling temperature of approximately 78°C. No flammable vapour/air mixture was produced at temperatures below the boiling temperature of the test item. From this, it was concluded that the test item had no flash point.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
No flash-point was observed below the boiling temperature of the test item.
Executive summary:

The flash -point of dichloro trifluoro methoxy dioxolane (CAS 161611-73-0) was determined according to EU method A9 (2008), ISO 2719 (2002), ISO 3679 (2004), ASTM D93 (2002), ASTM D7094 (2012) and UN ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5: Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Part III: Classification Procedures, Test Methods and Criteria Relating to Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Division 5.1, Class 8 and Class 9, Paragraph 32.4.1: “Non-Viscous Flammable Liquids” (2009). The test was performed in compliance with GLP rpinciples.

No flash-point was observed below the boiling temperature of the test item when the closed cup method was applied.
