The substance is a brown solid with a melting point above 500°C. It is corrosive and reacts with water.
The substance is manufactured at a single site and is used as an intermediate which when reacted with water produces further substances that are REACH registered. Although, it is viewed as an intermediate (it is consumed in a chemical reaction) by the Registrant, the production process is over 25 years old and was not constructed to fulfil Strictly Controlled Conditions (SCC).
