Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
First-aid measures general : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell. If possible show this sheet, if not available show packaging or label.
First-aid measures after inhalation : Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. Call a doctor.
First-aid measures after skin contact : Rinse skin with water/shower. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. If skin
irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
First-aid measures after eye contact : Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
First-aid measures after ingestion : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Symptoms/effects after inhalation : May cause respiratory irritation.
Symptoms/effects after skin contact : Irritation.
Symptoms/effects after eye contact : Eye irritation.
Treat symptomatically
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media : Sand. Dry powder.
Unsuitable extinguishing media : Do not use water jet.
Fire hazard : Flammable liquid and vapour.
Hazardous decomposition products in case of fire : Toxic fumes may be released. Carbon oxides (CO, CO2).
Advice for firefighters
Protection during firefighting : Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.
Other information : The closed containers may be cooled by water spray
Accidental release measures
Emergency procedures : Ventilate spillage area. No open flames, no sparks, and no smoking. Avoid breathing vapours, mist, gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Evacuate area. Avoid ignition sources. Vapours can accumulate in low areas. Beware of vapors accumulating to form explosive concentrations.
Avoid release to the environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the
environment must be avoided.
Methods for cleaning up : Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container. Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters.
Other information : Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling : Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Flammable vapours may accumulate in the container. Use explosion-proof equipment. Wear personal protective equipment. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapours, mist. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Hygiene measures : Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Technical measures : Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.
Storage conditions : Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Keep container tightly closed. Store locked up. Carefully close all opened container and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Incompatible materials : Oxidation agents.
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Hand protection:
Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts
the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to
the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 / EEC
and in the standard IN 374 which derives from it. Nitrile rubber
Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government
standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU). Safety glasses
kin and body protection:
Wear full protective gear against chemicals. Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing. The type of protective equipment must be selected
according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection not required. For nuisance exposures use type OV/AG (US) or type ABEK (EU EN 14387) respirator cartridges. Use
respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU). [In case of
inadequate ventilation] wear respiratory protection.
