Description of key information
Sodium chlorate is very soluble in water, is not expected to adsorb onto soil and does not evaporate. From these findings the environmental compartment in which sodium chlorate is expected to be present is water.
The calculations performed with Mackay's level I model support this. In this model all sodium chlorate present in the environment is found in water.
