Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

7h-ErC50: 25 mg/l (read-across from blown linseed oil), which is in excess of the solubility limit.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for marine water algae:
25 mg/L

Additional information

Studies are available for blown linseed oil (BLO) and blown rapeseed oil (BRO). The studies are conducted according to OECD 201 and are validated with reliability 2. For BLO, the study resulted in an ErC50 of 25 mg/L, for BRO this was 33 mg/L. In both studies the EbC50, ErC50 and EyC50 are all in excess of the solubility limit, hence in excess of 1 mg/L. Undissolved material has disturbed the measurements of algal cell density. The results of this category are read across to BCO, for which the highest toxicity (lowest toxicity value) is used. Therefore, for BCO a 72-h ErC50 of 25 mg/l is expected, with the additional note that this value is in excess of the solubility limit.
