The EC50 of Citrowanil B for the daphnia toxicity is 12 mg/l after 48 h.

One valid experiment was performed under flow-through conditions

The main study was performed using five concentrations ranging from 2.2 – 46 mg/L. Twenty daphnia were exposed to the test item for 48 hours. After 24 and 48 hours, the immobilised daphnia were counted.

Only 5 % of the animals were immobilised in the control.

At the beginning, after 24 hours and at the end of the test, the content of the test item in the test solutions was determined using a validated HPLC method.

 

The correlation between nominal and measured concentration was acceptable with the exception of unexpectedly high measured values at the beginning and after 24 hours in treatments 22 mg/L and 46 mg/L. Therefore, the determination of the biological results was based on the geometric mean of the measured concentrations.

 

All quality control criteria were met. The 24h-EC50iof potassium dichromate was tested as positive control. The value was determined as 1.7 mg/L, lying within the demanded range of 0.6 – 1.7 mg/L.

 

The following results were determined for CITROWANIL B (species:Daphnia magna).
