Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: With eyes held open rinse with plenty of water for at least
5 min.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: all common extinguishing agents
Product arising from burning: > 200 °C the separation of CH3Cl begins.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: self contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up and collect in containers (if possible in original
containers)
Handling and storage
Handling: Technical measures: not necessary
Personel measures: gloves, goggles
Storage: In closed containers; avoid drying up of the material,
because the quality of the product may suffer by drying up
(Destruction of the ion exchanger balls when moisetened
again)

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: In closed containers.
No dangerous substance according to international transport
regulations.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: In fine and dry form dust explosion may occur.
Chemical reaction with water: none
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The ion exchanger can be regenerated by adding stochiometric
amounts of NaOH. Then it can be reused (more than 300
times). The substance can be disposed of at a waste disposal
site or by incineration.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not necessary.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: As far as the material is not contaminated, it may be
littered on a normal waste site (as ion exchanger with
styrene matrix).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: In incineration plants with HCl absorber.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Product does not enter the public domain.
