Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Arsenic metal does not have a melting point as such. It has a suplimation temperature at 616°C

Description of key information

Arsenic metal does not have a melting point as such. It is known that the vapour pressure increases with increasing temperature (from 1 Pa at 280°C to 100 kPa at 601°C) and a sublimation temperature of 616°C is also reported. Thus, a definitive melting point cannot be given, as arsenic directly sublimes from the solid to the gaseous phase.
