Description of key information

Pure arsenic metal is typically placed on the market by the only EU producer (which is the lead registrant) in the form of metallic grains or ingots. The smallest particle size is 0.5 mm and the most common specification is 2-15 mm. Since the final product is deliberately prepared with these specifications, further experimental verification of the particle size distribution is not considered to be required (in accordance with section 1, Annex XI of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006). The lead registrant has been made aware that co-registrants may place arsenic on the market in the form of a powder. Via the consortium, co-registrants have been advised to include their very own information on particle size in section 1.4 on analytical data, in their own registration dossiers. There are very limited quantities of arsenic powder on the EU market.
