Preliminary test:

About 30 g of the test item were used to form the test pile (excess substance included). After the flame application to one end of the pile forming of a red/brownish coloured melted mass was visible. An ignition of the substance could not be observed.

According to the guideline the execution of the main test was not necessary.

Conclusions:
The test item "D-Tryptophan Methyl Ester HCl " is not highly flammable according to the definition in Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, method A.10.
Executive summary:

The substance id "not ignitable". Therefore the substance has not to be classified as dangerous according Annex I, No. 2.7 of regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
