Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One reliable key study is available on the registered reaction mass and the experimental value of relative density at 20°C was determined to be 1.11.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.11

Additional information

The determination in the key study was carried out using a pycnometer method, according to Method A3 Relative Density of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and GLP. No deviation from the guideline was observed during the test.

A calibration was carried out by determining the mass of distilled water required to fill the pycnometer. The pycnometer was then emptied and dried to constant weight. The pycnometer with a defined volume (V) was then filled with the test item. After equilibration at 20 °C in a water bath, the filled pycnometer was re-weighed.

The density is calculated from the difference in weight between the full and empty pycnometer and its known volume. The relative density D20/4of solids or liquids is the ratio between the mass of a volume of substance to be examined, determined at 20°C, and the mass of the same volume of water, determined at 4 °C.

The relative density of the test item has been determined in duplicate to be 1.11 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.
