Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim from area to fresh air. Seek medical attention
if respiratory difficulties or irritation arises.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for several minutes. Seek medical attention if iritation develops.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with plenty of water, and soap if available, for several minutes. Seek medical attention if
irritation develops.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, give 3-4 glasses of milk but do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, give fluids again. Seek
medical attentio Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a fire evolving noxious fumes (e.g. carbon and nitrogen oxides and Manganese containing compounds). However, there is no experimental evidence to support this.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate non-essential personnel from the immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to the relevant national or international standards. Absorb spillages of solutions with suitable inert material (e.g. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Containers filled with waste material should be labelled in the same way as the original containers.

Dispose of the waste material by incineration in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any relevant local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the neat substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately contolled, appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn. Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistand clothing to Standard EN368

Eye Protection to Standard EN166

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: The substance is considered stable, as supplied, under normal conditions but, to maintain product quality, should not be stored in heat or direct sunlight. This substance should be stored away from strong oxidising agents or strong alkalis.

Keep containers closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200kg drums

Exposure controls / personal protection

The need for personal protective equipment should be based on a workplace risk assessment for the particular use. Avoid skin and eye contact by wearing chemical resistant gloves (eg nitrile, neoprene, PVC) and safety goggles. Where more extensive contact may occur, wear suitable protective clothing (eg apron, sleeves, boots).
Wear suitable respiratory protective equipment if exposure to spray or vapour is likely.
Consult manufacturers concerning breakthrough times. PPE should be to European (EN) standards
*Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374
*Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368
*Eye protection to Standard EN166.
Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be used, it must be capable of adequately controlling exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the appropriate international or national standards.
The above standards should be regarded as a minimum.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Material is not known to be reactive towards water or other solvents.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not present a significant explosion hazard as it is only ever imported into the EU as a component of a liquid preparation/mixture. However, as with most organic powder samples, explosive mixtures can be formed with sufficient concentrations of dust combined with air.

Dust explosion determined by test: No

Materials to avoid: strong oxidising agents or strong alkalis

Conditions to avoid: The substance is considered stable, as supplied, under normal conditions but, to maintain product quality, should not be stored in heat or direct sunlight.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery / recycling: - Under normal application the substance is a component of a mixture and it is not thought possible/appropriate to recycle the substance. Spillages should be recovered for disposal at an appropriate licensed incineration facility.

Industry - Possibility of neutralization: - No known method.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: - Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance should be disposed of by incineration in a proper installation, Stack gases should be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: --- no data

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: --- no data

Public at large - Possibility of recovery / recycling: - Not applicable, the substnace is not made available to the genreal public.
