Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Justification for type of information:
Assessment by manufacturer using recognised methods
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Melting Point device MPD02 up to 300 C
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
capillary method
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 300 °C
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Executive summary:

No melting was observed when substance was analysed with Melting Point device MPD02 up to 300 C.

Thermogravimetric analysis was also performed and it was observed that between 100 °C. – approx. 400 °C the substance suffers a further dehydration process, followed most likely, by the decomposition of the sodium lactate ligand (organic part).

Oxidation will occur at higher temperatures

During normal use and handling, and certainly under biological and environmental conditions, there substance will remain solid.

Description of key information
