Description of key information
The Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water), log Pow, of 5-Amino-o-cresol was 0.53 (Pow = 3.39), measured at pH 7.22 and room temperature by the HPLC method (OECD 117).

The Partition Coefficient of 5-Amino-o-cresol was determined according to GLP and following the OECD 117 guideline (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water) using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)).
The test was conducted with a concentration of approximately 10mg/L in mobile phase consisting of 40% methanol and 60% HPLC water. Samples of the test material were analysed in duplicates via HPLC on a C18 column with DAD - detection.
Calibration was performed using eight reference materials with known logPow values (given by the guideline), each with a nominal concentration of approx. 10mg/L (except for 2-butanone which was prepared with a concentration of approximately 200 mg/L) in mobile phase. Dead time of the HPLC-system was determined three fold using approx. 10mg/L sodium nitrate in mobile phase.
