Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the vapour pressure of the test substance according to the OECD Guideline 104 and EU Method A4 , the isoteniscope method, in compliance with GLP. Under the study conditions, the vapour pressure of the test substance was determined to be <100 Pa (Chilworth, 2017).

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the test substance was determined using the isoteniscope method according to OECD Guideline 104 and EU Method A.4 (Chilworth, 2017) as well using QSAR models of EPI Suite and T.E.S.T. (US EPA, 2018).

- Experimental VP: <100 Pa at 20 °C (using isoteniscope method);

- QSAR based VP: Using EPI Suite v.4.11, the VP values for the individual constituents ranged from 0.0744 to 0.186 Pa, leading to a weighted average value of 0.102 Pa at 25°C; the estimates are considered to be reliable with restrictions, as they do not completely fall within of the applicability domain. Using US EPA T.E.S.T v.4.2.1, the VP values ranged from 0.824 to 2.18 Pa, leading to a weighted average value of 1.15 Pa at 25°C; the estimates for the test substance are considered to be reliable, as they fall within of the applicability domain.

Overall, based on the above information, the test substance can be considered to have low volatility potential. However, in absence of a specific value from the experimental study, the higher weighted average QSAR based VP value of 1.15 Pa has been considered further for hazard/risk assessment.
